Action Classes Driving School is licensed by DPS and offers instruction for the purpose of educating and training an individual, by offering a 38-hour Driver Education Course and a 14-hour Pre-licensing Course that prepares a new driver to obtain a learner’s permit or driver’s license. The course of study will be administered in a classroom, and in a vehicle. Individuals are instructed on the techniques of driving a vehicle, safety precautions and traffic regulations and laws. Please read the Policies and terms below and when you come in to register a form will be provided for the student or parent and guardian to sign.
Policies & Terms
Anytime a class has begun, and you do not complete it in the time frame set for you by Action School you will be charged $50.00 per day for classroom lessons missed. If the Knowledge Skills Test is failed there is a $50.00 fee for retake on written knowledge skills test after completion of the second scheduled time. If the Behind the Wheel Instruction is failed, you will have to do two hours of drive time at a cost of $75.00. This is because the classroom time has been completed and we will have to come back in the office to allow a student to complete lessons, take a quiz, take/retake the final exam or to complete behind the wheel driving or driving road skills test. No Call/Show within 24hrs $25.00 fee.
Instructional drives must be completed: 90 days from classroom completion for the 14-Hour Pre-licensing Class and 120 days from classroom completion for the 38-Hour Driver’s Education Class.
Certificate(s) will not be given to the student or parent until all fees are paid. The student cannot be scheduled for Behind the Wheel Instruction until all fees are paid.
Refunds:
Class fees are nonrefundable.
Any checks returned because of nonsufficient funds will be charged a $50.00 handling fee. Afterwards we will only accept cash, cash app or your card. If you lose your certificate of completion a $15.00 fee will be applied for any copy given.
The Road Skills test is not a part of the 38-hour Drivers Education class or the 14-hour pre licensing class. You will need an appointment and the cost is $60.00.

Total cost fees for the driver education course can be paid on this website. If paying partial fees, you must come into Action School or call and then pay using cash app. You can print and complete the registration form from this website.
Exam Standards
1. A final examination, provided by DPS, shall be administered to all students at the completion of classroom studies. The student requirements to be given credit for the classroom course the student will have to score at least 80 percent on the final examination.
2. Upon completion of classroom studies and passing the final examination the student can then be scheduled for eight hours of the behind the wheel instructions. If the total fees have not been paid the balance that will cover the cost of the BTW instruction has to be paid. To complete the driver education course, you will need a score of 70% when you are graded on your last drive. If you have not passed the final exam you will need to take the exam and pass it with a score of 80%. This will qualify the student for a driver’s license or a learner’s permit.
3. Any student who fails the final exam shall be allowed to retest once the same day. If the student does not pass the test on the second attempt, the student may return any day thereafter and retest twice each day until the test is passed. The third set of exams will cost $50.00.
Upon request, we shall provide photocopies or duplicates of driver education certificate of completion upon a student’s request for a minimum of five years from the date of issuance. Such duplicates shall be signed and dated by the owner of the driving school with a fee of $10.00
38-Hour Class
Our Fall, Winter and spring classes are in the evenings 4:00-7:00 PM. Our summer classes school brakes and holiday classes are 9:00-3:30 with lunch from 12:00-12:30, usually for five days. We are developing a 38-hour class where the students can only attend 2-3 days a week with completion time in 3-5 weeks.
Our driver education course is administered in a classroom environment of not less than 30 hours of classroom instruction that enables a student applicant aged 14 years and nine months through 17 to learn through various instructional methods, under the direct guidance of a properly licensed driver education instructor.
Eight-Hour Behind-the-Wheel Course Assessment and Instruction a program which shall consist of a minimum of eight hours of instruction with the student as the operator of a dual-controlled motor vehicle. The course is also referred to as BTW. Students 15 - 17, parent or guardian shall sign, authorizing the instruction. A test is conducted or given at the end of the eight-hour driver education course to determine a student’s driving ability.
14-Hour Class
Pre-Licensing Course a program which shall consist of six hours of classroom instruction and an eight hour behind-the-wheel course required of first-time driver’s license applicants 18 years of age or above, if a 30-hour classroom course is not completed.
Road Skills Test
Our driving school has a contract with DPS to administer knowledge and road skills tests required by Louisiana law for driver’s license issuance as a third-party tester.
The Road Skills Test shall be administered to those students 17 years of age or older upon completion of a 38-Hour class or 14-Hour class.
