Students must be present and on time day each day for class and drives. State law does not allow us to assign make-up work to be completed at home. Classroom studies will proceed by each chapter in the Louisiana Driver’s Guide. This will include the reading of material, writing, discussing the answers in the study guide, and taking a five-question quiz. Nine quizzes will be given, and the student’s average score must be 80%. Any quiz that is failed the student will have to take over. We also have other resources that are used to aid in the understanding of the materials.

They should use their notes to study at home and read the materials in the driver’s guide at www.expresslane.org, drivers, driver’s education and guides, adult or minor driver education and Class D and E Driver’s guide.

On the last day of class, the student will be given the Knowledge Skills Test from Office of Motor Vehicles.  There are 40 questions on the test and the students can pass if their score is at least 80%. They can only have 8 incorrect answers. If the student fails the final exam, they shall be allowed to retest once the same day. If the student does not pass the test on the second attempt, the student may return and retest twice each scheduled day until the test is passed. After the student has come in two sessions to retest, a $50.00 fee will be charged per session.

Use of electronic devices during class or while testing is not allowed. Students may not leave the classroom during the final examination. Students should not use cellphones during class time. If it is an emergency the student may move outside to use the cell phone. If the student uses the cellphone while testing that is considered cheating. If a student is caught cheating in any manner that student shall be dismissed from the class and a refund will not be issued.

The supervisor of driving instructors will contact you to see when the student is available for their drives.  They will create a schedule for the student and notify you of their drives.

The student must have their TIP car for each drive and the Road Skills Test. We will review the card for any restriction and the student must follow the restriction for each drive. If a drive is missed it will be reassigned. They are graded on the last drive. To pass they must obtain a score of 70%.  If this test is failed a driving school has the right to recommend a learner’s permit regardless of age or recommend paying for driving lessons at this or another driving school.

The eight hours behind the wheel course must be completed within 120 days of the classroom instruction. Where the student will begin and end their drive will be determined by the driving instructor.

Breaks will be given after 45 minutes of instruction. The students may bring food and beverages but must clean up their area daily.

We have guidelines that must be adhered to because of viruses.
